About ME
Nice to meet you, I’M AMELIA
Hi! I’m Amelia, a wife and mother of three and owner of House of Colour Kenmore, Seattle. As a teacher by trade, my passion is helping and educating others. I’ve been in the fashion industry for over 13 years professionally and been a lover of style and fashion as long as I can remember. Being a former educator, I loved that House of Colour is rooted in years of science and research, both in color and style. I love teaching clients the background behind what they’re learning and seeing, to truly make an impact as they apply the knowledge to their everyday lives. It truly is fascinating.
Now, when I shop or get dressed, I have so much more direction. Shopping with intention has saved me money and time. Everything in my closet works together as a foundational capsule collection. I used to walk into a store and pick something out, yet it would hang in my closet, rarely getting worn. Now, I might go into a store, and leave empty handed, because I have the knowledge base about my colors and style.
Even if an item is a great color for me, it might not be the right cut for my style personality and body. This has truly transformed my wardrobe, only adding things that are home runs, filling my closet with items that I love, and that love me back! I finally feel “put together” and more like me, even when running my kids from event to event, playing on the floor with my toddler or date night with my husband. I know how important it is to truly feel like yourself and confident to show up authentically as your best self, because I’ve been there. I’m here to help you every step of the way!
I love helping professionals, both men and women, curate a closet that shows authenticity and elevate interactions in the workplace. Whether you’re seasoned professional or newly starting a career, the confidence you’ll gain and knowledge is immeasurable. Young or not so young, I love providing the knowledge to all. New brides learn about what colors make them shine, including their best whites and makeup colors. Teens and kids learn about colors that will last them their entire life. Sometimes the most impactful seems to be those that felt like I did- just in a rut and needing a little guidance.
However the direction that knowing my colors and style gave me was truly life changing. I knew that I had to bring this service to Washington. I felt I had found a hidden gem and everyone needed to have this knowledge about themselves!
